Finland- Old Cars and Trucks

Another nice postcard of American old cars and trucks. It is from Finland. This is from Tarja. She is 42 yrs old woman and musician, who also loves animals especially horses and ponies. And one of her favorites are Llamas and alpacas.

Netherlands-Drenthe

A nice little yellow card with a beautiful flower from Netherlands. The sender whose name is Ida live in a small village in the province of Drenthe, in the northeast part of the country. She is 50yrs old and a lab technician.

Italy- Horse

This is my first postcard from Italy. I find this very interesting because of these horses as I am fond with animals too. The sender is a 7 yr old Italian boy whose name is Marco.

USA- Michigan (Cherry Blossom)

A postcard of nice flower cherry blossoms from JS in Michigan, USA. She is an artist who loves painting and photography. She is married with a grown up daughter and they live in a quite suburban city. She also loves flower like me.

Taiwan- Hengchun City Walls

A postcard from James of Taiwan with lovely post stamps of flowers. This is the view of Hengchun City Walls, Taiwan.

Russia- St Peterburg

Another nice postcard with flowers from Natasha of Russia. She live in St. Peterburg, the second city in Russia. She has a son who is getting ready for school in kindergarten and she is a little bit nervous about first day of school. Attached also to the postcard are nice post stamps.

US- Oregon

This card is from Elenie from Salem, Oregon. It has nice post stamps attached on it like cartoons Archie and picture of Katherine Hepburn. She is a midwife and a mother of 2 adult sons. She haven't been here in my country but she love to visit someday. On the card top row: Colombia River, Gorge, Portland, Mt. Bachelor. Middle row: Crater Lake, Mt Hood and Lost Lake. Bottom row: McKenzie River, Haystack Rock at Oregon, Mt. Hood with Hood River.

Germany- Darmstadt

This is the first postcard sent by Barbara to my country. She is a mom of 2.5yrs old son Joris with her cat Jessie from Germany. She give me this card because I like flower. This one is nice collection from Germany.

Finland- The Birthplace of Jean Sibelius, Hameenlinna

This postcard is from Sirpa of Finland. A card from the birthplace of classical composer Jean Sibelius in Hameenlinna, Finland. There is a museum nowadays and this place has really belonged to his family. The tapestry is made from the original which is found in restoration. These are really nice musical instruments of the oldies.

France-Pays de Broceliande

This one is a postcard from France when Hidde visited the place. The pool, the abbey and Paimpont village.

Alaska

This is the coldest postcard that I have so far because of the glaciers on the picture. Alaska has countless glaciers from north to south Glacier Bay to Mendenhall to Prince William Sound in Portage and Kenai Fjords. Thanks to Julie from Alaska.

China-Painting of Venice Great Canal 1881

This is another unique postcard from Zikki in China, a student from Peking University. But she is originally from Shanghai. She loves painting thats why she send me this postcard about painting of Venice Great Canal,1881. Remir is her favorite artist.

Thailand- Chiangmai

This is my first postcard from Thailand. Although I have lived there for almost 2 years a decade ago. It is from Somruethai or Nok (means bird). She is from Pathumthani Thailand. This postcard is the image of wildflower called Chom-Poo-Pim-Jai (Thai) at Doi Luang Chiang Dao, a hill of northern area of Chiangmai. It is really nice to see this view of natures.

Germany- Ze Roberto

I also like soccer. I am very happy to receive this postcard from Wilhelm of Germany. Willi is living in a small village in Riepe with his wife Jutta and a dog called Monty. He works in Volkswagen, Passat factory in Emden as a car tester. He said his company has 9,000 workers and making 1,150 cars everyday. He said he is also a fan of Hamburger SV (HSV). In this photo is soccer player Ze Roberto (Brazilian National Player) of Hamburger SV. He is a good player. He used to play with the team of Bayer Leverkusen and FC Bayern Munchen in a German Bundesliga. He makes 305 games and 37 goals.

Ireland- Welsh Poppy

USA- Texas Wildflowers

This postcard is from Becki of Rochester, New York. She got this card from Texas when she visited there last April. Springtime in Texas transform the landscape into a blanket of colorful flowers. Lowerleft, Bluebonnets; Top left, Prairie (or Indian) Paintbrush; Right, Winecups and Gaillardia.

Netherlands - Aster flowers

Netherlands is known as the Land of Flowers. In this postcard you can see the beauty of white asters in Netherlands. These flowers have wide varieties with different colors. This postcard is from Ingrid.

Switzerland- Flowers on Alps

This is one of the 6 postcards that I received today. Among them are 4 flower postcards. And its first time also to have one from Switzerland. It has very nice flower post stamps. Margrit, the sender said that these flowers are growing in the alps. The white ones (Edelweiss) are very seldom to find because you have to go high up in the mountains to see them.

Slovenia-Ljubljana

First time to received a postcard from Slovenia. This one is the aerial view of the capital city of Ljubljana where the sender Petra is living together with her boyfriend. It's a nice city view as I can see the castle on the center of the postcard. I also like the flower post stamps attached on it.

Finland- Vintage car

This postcard is from Paulina in Finland. I just received it this morning and I was so glad to have this one since I really like vintage classic cars. She said her favorite classic car is volvo called "Saint" in the famous TV-series character Rode. Someone closest to her heart has an old Dodge Challenger from 1971 also.She said that when she was a child her dad has a Lada, a Russian car from 70's. Having such collections of old classic cars is a cool feeling.

China

What a wonderful view of nature! This one is a postcard from Iris in Nanjing, Eastern China. This morning I was really feeling refresh as I received this one because of its natural view of nature,the waterfalls and the green environment of Huangguoshu Cataract in Guizhou.

Brunei Darussalam

This is the first postcard that I received from Brunei Darussalam. The sender is a 16 yr old girl whose name is SiangYi. Its her first time to send one in our country. This is the view of Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque in Brunei Darussalam.

Taiwan

I received postcards today thru direct swap from my fellow postcrosser in Taiwan. Chen Jing-Feng sent 5 postcards featuring different views in Taipei.

1. Lalu Island

This island is located in the middle of a famous lake called Sun Moon Lake. It is in Nantou County and attracts thousands of tourists every year.

2. Kenting Pasture

This postcard is Kenting Pasture which is located in the southest county in Pingdong of Taiwan . And it is one of the national parks with many beautiful coral reefs or tropical plants.


3. Danshuei Fishermen's Wharf

This is the view of Danshuei Fishermen's Wharf in Danshuei, Taipei. It is considered as romantic place as many people think since many lovers will come to visit this place to spend time together.

Another view of Danshuei . It is a famous sight-seeing spot in Taiwan. There are many good foods that you can eat and beautiful views or historic spots that you can see here.


4. Dajhih Bridge

This is the Dajhih Bridge in Taipei during night view. And on the right side is the famous Grand Hotel with Chinese style architecture.

Netherlands - Tulips

This morning I am very happy to receive this postcard from Johnbom in Netherlands. Tulips are my favorite flowers. And Holland or Netherlands is widely known for these wonderful tulips which are growing on fields or garden of Keukenhof in the town of Lisse in the province of South Holland. Many tourists from all over the world are visiting this place to see the beautiful sight of different bright colors of flowers during spring season. Johnbom said that he just live close to this garden which is about 20 miles Southwest from Amsterdam. Since I like flowers very much, I must travel to Holland to see this beautiful tulips.

France

This postcard contains only this quote "De sages paroles de"...." Words of Wisdom from". Its a simple word but very broad in meaning. Its from Didier in France.

Finland

Another postcard today with a lovely flowers from a language teacher in Finland. She is Anna Kaisa. She has two lovely dogs named Vilma and Alma. This postcard is dated February 26th 2010 and she said that theres lots of snow in her place.

This is one of my favorite postcard. It is from Claus in Germany. Since I am interested in cars, he send me Porsche postcard. Porsche is one of the famous German brand of car.

New Zealand

Auckland (City of Sails) from Devonport

Another postcard I received today is from Auckland, New Zealand. It is from a 20 yrs old lady from Germany who live now in New Zealand for about a year. She is Svenja.

Auckland City and the suburb of Devonport are linked by the harbour bridge and also by an excellent ferry service. Day trips to Devonport are very popular with locals and tourists alike as the cafes, restaurants and shopping are excellent in this North Shore suburb.

This postcard that I received today is from Lesley in United States of America, who is a British national living in the US for 6yrs now. She live about a couple of hours drive from this place North Conway. This one is the view of wonderful flowers in the highest mountain in state.

Taiwan

This postcard is from Taiwan which I recieved from Yumico. She send it during Chinese New Year on February 12, 2010. The quote that says "Impossible is Nothing" is one of the best motto. I also like sports as this one has featured one of the best players of basketball.

This postcard is from China whose sender is Ms Helen Hua. I also like animals like this wonderful cat.

Scotland

Another postcard from a 7 yr old boy in Scotland whose name is Nicholas. He live with his family and dog in a little coastal town on the South West of Scotland. As a little boy he likes to ride on his bike and playing with his dog. This one shows the red roses which I like.

1. Ostfriesland

It is the coastal region in the northwest of the German federal state of the Lower Saxony. It connects Western Frisia (in the Netherlands)with the district of Nordfriesland in Schleswig-Holstein, all of which belong to the historic and geographic Frisia. There are 465,000 inhabitants in the area of 3,144.26 square kilometers which consists of the three districts of Aurich, Leer and Wittmund. And there is a chain of islands of the coast, which is called the East Frisian Islands that stretch from 90 kilometers along the coast.The landscape is dominated by the North Sea. They offer dunes and sand beaches, though in their center they have grass and woods. The UNESCO World Heritage Fund declared the "Wattenmeer",which is a national park, a global heritage site since the area between the islands and the coast has its unique features in the world in which the tide leaves a broad stretch of mudflats with creeks that attract an extraordinary sum of species, worms and crabs as well as birds or seals.

Riga is the capital and largest city of Latvia. Riga is famous for its Art Nouveau architecture. On this postcard is the Art Nouveau style building in Elizabetes Street No. 10b.

1. Kalwaria, Zebrzydowska


Kalwaria, Zebrzydowska is a town in Southern Poland with 4429 inhabitants as of 2007. The town was named after the religious complex-calvary and its founder Governor of Krakow Mikotaj Zebrzydowski in December 1, 1602. The Kalwaria Zebrzydowska park is a Mannerist Architectural and Park Landscape Complex and Pilgrimage park, was added in 1999 to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.


2. Cracow- Wawel- The Royal Castle




In this postcard is the City of Polish Kings-Cracow. Cracow or Krakow is the 2nd largest and one of the oldest cities in Poland and a popular tourist destination. In 1978 UNESCO placed Cracow's old town on the list of World Heritage Sites. Cracow is a pearl of Polish architecture and Polish history.
The Gothic Wawel Castle is situated on the left bank of the biggest river in Poland, Vistula River.

In this postcard is the Norbertine Sisters Nunnery in Cracow. In the city there are more than 120 Roman Catholics Churches and more than 25 abbeys. One of the amazing feature about this city is that the largest medieval town square in Europe is the Main Market Square in Cracow.
